| I bought this keyboard exclusively for use with my Playstation 3. I was tired of entering text with the controller, arrowing through a virtual keyboard. When trying to keep up with live chatting or what have you, reply time is quite important. Though there are a couple Dualshock-mounted keypads on the market, 1) They are tiny, 2) they most likely piggyback onto the controller's battery pack, thus draining the battery much faster, and 3) They're $50. This is $15.
This keyboard plugged right in and worked right away, with no software to install, no stupid drivers to download, and no rebooting necessary. A true plug-and-play accessory. In fact, I'm typing on it right now.
It's very slim and very light. The keys are pretty "soft" and don't make a lot of clicking and clacking when you type.
Sure, there are a lot of "envelope" an "house" and "magnifying glass" buttons on it, but I'm not sure what they all do, and I'm not about to start pushing them while I'm writing this.
The only gripe is that this keyboard has a single-size "backspace" key. As in, the backspace key is the same physical size as a letter key. Until you get used to it, you're going to be entering a lot of "\"s instead of backspacing.
Remember that this is corded, so if you have a 72" television, you can't sit across the room and type things. The cable on this is probably six-feet long. But at least you'll never run out of batteries like you will if you've got a wireless or Bluetooth keyboard.
All in all, this was quite a sound purchase for me. I'll use it all the time, and the fact that there a big red Superman logo on it only sweetens the deal. However, it is technicaly a Superman Returns keyboard and since that movie is kind of old by now, that might explain why these aren't really for sale anymore. Perhaps i-Rocks makes the same thing, just not Superman-style.
Enjoy! 12.12.2008
| | I love Superman so anything or any product to do with Superman is wonderful and it rocks!!!
| | This product is great for people who like the notebook keys but on a regular keyboard meaning the arrow keys, and delete keys aren't so compack. It doesn't come with a PS2 adaptor but you can buy them or if you have one from another keyboard it'll work. Only other thing some people won't like is the backspace It's smaller then most like. Other then that I love this product it's really great.
| | This slim keyboard is the perfect match for my 17" laptop. This keyboard has easy access keys which are very much similar in function to my HP notebook's Quickplay buttons. Now, I can preserve my precious laptop's on-board keyboard using this as replacement.
PROS
- Cheap!
- Slim
- Has many extra function keys like WWW, Search, Mail, Browsing as well as volume and pause/play buttons
- Plastic, but tough and solid construction
CONS
- The Superman design is for the Superman fanatic; but not me. This can be a PRO for that person.
- I just hope it lasts for at least a year.
- USB port is fine, but it should have included a PS2 adapter.
Notes: See my uploaded photos. And sorry for the pathetic title.
