| Good Keypad, Terrible Trackball |
| First off, the Trust TK-2500P is a solid keypad. The keys are full-sized, and well up off the ground. While they are rubber membrane keys under the hood, they feel more solid than many OEM keyboards. They sit slightly off the table, and the tilt angle can be flattened or reversed (for lefty use, I guess. I really don't know.) All in all, the keypad feels great.
The trackball, on the other hand, is terrible. The nicest thing I can say about the ball itself is that it glows. Other than that, the trackball has a very jerky motion due to a constant low-level sticking that just makes it hard to use. Even when moving correctly, sometimes the trackball will just ignore imput for half of a second. Mouse Button 1 and Mouse Button 2 are awkwardly positioned to hit while you're using the trackball. With practice it is functional, but as a trackball lover it is simply the worst optical trackball I have ever used.
The whole thing feels surprisingly solid, with a pleasingly tactile coating that I can only describe as a super-fine rubber dust. If the trackball wasn't awful, I'd love the TK-2500P. As it is, it is a really solid keypad attached to a glowing orb that you probably ought to leave alone. For the price, that might be worth it.
