| Love the case as it makes the 15" Unibody very sleek indeed it has 2 very small clips that hook to the edge of either side of the Macbook body and screen and closes exactly as if the item wasn't even there, it vents the heat well as before without the Speck cover i would have my Mac directly on my lap and it would start to burn after a while so it runs the vent test for me.
I love the case itself with a slightly rubberized satin black finish, whilst closed you can easily grip it with one hand without it slipping, a clear satin would have been great however the black is my first choice over all the colors in the satin range, if your a Mac snob and want everyone to know you have a lovely shiny Unibody Macbook Pro on the table whilst sitting in your favorite coffee shop then don't bother as the Apple lit logo on the back of the screen glows very dim through the Speck cover, however lets not detach from why I wanted the cover in the first place as when I bought my Macbook if your like me and would rather keep it scratch free then this is the best option by miles as it could almost have an Apple logo on the case its that good.
However not without its faults it does weight your Macbook down, a small price to pay for keeping your $2714.54 machine in pristine condition however the case that attaches to the screen weighs the screen down whilst open as Im guessing the hinge that holds the screen up wasn't designed to hold such a weight as even though its not that heavy its heavy enough to make the screen slightly floppy.
All in all a good investment, I would like to see a clear satin version and made slightly thinner but sure beats taking it in and out of an Incase type sleeve every how often I use it.

| According to previous reviews on amazon.com and other websites I was worried about three things:
1. weight: Yes, the case does weigh about a pound. As a tradeoff for good protection I find this acceptable. For people who do not like the added weight, one could also try "skin" cases. Much thinner, but also less protective cover.
2. heat: No, the laptop does not overheat. The added vent openings are sufficient.
3. Kensington Security Slot covered: No, the newest Speck cases allow access to all ports, including the slot to connect a security cable.
The case fits fairly tight but remains removable without too much effort. The build quality is ok. I am still a little sad that I have to hide that gorgeous macbook inside a case, but the added protection seems to make it worth.
| | I found this to be a good cover for my macbook , wish that I had known that you cannot use a laptop lock with this product before I purchased it. Fits well not loose at all. All in all a good buy.
| | I would recommend these cases to anybody. It seems to be high quality protection that satisfies my dad while giving me good access to the ports, and keeps my beautiful macbook pro nice and clean on the outside. The satin finish makes the case less slippery than the older kind had been, which is really good. I like how even though it is a hard case, the satin finish makes it feel sort of rubberized enough to feel comfortable. It shouldn't make the laptop too bulky for your bag because I can fit the laptop easily into the 15 inch space in mine easily. As an added bonus, I get to have my laptop be my favorite color, purple, right along with the protection it deserves. The apple logo even glows purple through the back! It's a good gift for a clumsy soon-to-be college student like me because it's both a need (protection) and a want (color)! Even though it's not cheap it's a great buy! The only downside is that it gets a lot of fingerprints but it's nothing that cleaning wipes can't take off, so just buy some of those.
| | Great case. Fits perfectly to my MBP 15". Only drawback is the heat. it seems to keep in a lot of heat, i have to keep the laptop at an angle more often than without the case. If not for that, i would have given it 5 stars. Worth the Money!!!
