| Another Sexy Vaio Product |
| This keyboard is certainly just a luxury item for your computer. Sure there are definitely more practical keyboards out there, sure as heck they are much cheaper, but like the previous reviewer mentioned why not indulge yourself periodically?? The keboard has a very solid feel to it, it not noisy when you type. Its very much like a laptop in construction and design, a Sony Vaio laptop more specifically, it looks nearly identical to my Vaio SZ laptop series keyboard. Sleek and modern, it will definitely get a wow from your friends! What's great is that it immediately worked with XP...no hard to understand instructions, no difficult software, plug in, press two buttons and BAM! your instantly connected. Works like a dream. One slight con is that I cannot get the S1,S2,S3 shortcut buttons to work, it says its for default email, web and calculator. Sadly it doesn't work for neither, BUT that's one thing I can live with, so it's not perfect (it may just be my machine, and don't let this keep your from buying this great gizmo).
I totally recommend this if you have a matching Vaio, because it looks wonderful, and compliments my Sony VGPBMS33/B Bluetooth® Laser Mouse!
5 STARS!!
| | I bought this Sony keyboard 27 Feb 08 and it has been absolutely superb! I was going to buy it for $160.00 plus tax at the local BestBuy; however, I purchased it on here for $127.98. It has an elegant look with the brushed aluminum design. The fold-up palm rest can also be used to prevent dust build up and it has done a great job so far. It being wireless is pretty cool, but I would of liked the wireless receiver (hockey puck looking thing with USB cable) to be smaller. It came with 4 AA batteries and mine still has 80% on the LCD screen and that's with daily use. I usually turn it off when I'm not using it, but it does have an auto shut off feature.
The apple keyboard is slightly quieter on key stokes, but it does not have a palm rest/dust cover and number keypad. I've owned many products by Sony and they have never let me down. I'm very pleased with this product and I would highly recommend it.
| | This keyboard is an indulgence at the price, but is very nice and the protective shield that folds over when not in use is great. It is sturdy and sleek.
| | I had buggered up my original wireless keyboard for my Vaio PC. This was a great replacement. Sleek looks. I also like the built-in cover which helps keep it clean. Too bad it only works with Vaio, or everyone would want this baby. It beats the Apple keyboard as it has the standard number keypad to the right which Apple's does not. I use lots of numbers and would not have been happy with the Apple wireless keyboard. My only wish would be that it had backlit keys.....ah well, can't have it all.
| | Contrary to one of the prior reviewers said that "it only works with Vaio" I found that this keyboard works with all the PCs I have, a Toshiba and an HP, to be exact. I tested it with an iMac and they don't connect.
I like the brushed metal silver finish even though the wrist rest is cold to skin in winter. I also like the neutral light grey color for the keys. The power on/off switch adds convenience, and one can see the signal strength, power/battery and caps status in a LCD bar... The performance is great.
That being said, I was not blown away by its sleekness when I received it. Not because I had seen it in my local store, but because I put it side by side with my iMac Apple slim keyboard and this Sony Vaio is twice the size of the truly sleek Apple. And the Apple keyboard has a nicer touch and feel.
I have one nitpick: The wireless receiver is nice-looking compact but it's in the size of a hocky puck with a cable and can clutter up the desk. I wish it could be just a mini USB adapter or built-in, so that it would be truly sleek.
