Protouch Keyboard Prot Macbook Pro Ghost White Gitd with printed Keys

Price: $16.00 More Info and All Reviews

Lets face it. Hours upon hours at your computer exposes your keyboard to an endless barrage of particles that range from dust to food - not to mention key wear. That's why iSkin created ProTouch keyboard protectors for MacBook. They are specially made from a high-grade silicone that is far beyond yesterday's plastic keyboard protectors and are precision molded to fit over and protect each key without sacrificing the normal typing experience. Since silicone is moisture resistant it creates an effective barrier between you and your keyboard protecting it and ultimately your computer from possible harm.

    Great Protection
I ordered this product to protect the keyboard on a new 17" MacBook Pro and I am very happy with it. I was a bit nervous about it moving around, but it doesn't. It is molded to fit the keys and it is slightly bigger than the keyboard, so it will overlap the edges.

I actually like the feel of it better than of the keyboard itself! It is soft and velvety -- a very nice tactile experience.

You will need to press the keys slightly harder than normal, but it didn't bother me a bit. I work on the computer on average about 8 - 10 hours a day and I never take this off.

I wasn't sure if the illuminated keyboard would be seen through the iSkin, but you can see them.

I would highly recommend this product. It will keep everything out of your keyboard nicely.
    better than expected
Originally I thought I'd only use this product when I thought there might be an elevated risk of crudding up the keyboard. Once I got it and put it on I haven't taken it off yet. Of course the typing feel is mushier, but I actually found it doesn't bother me at all. I don't think I have any more problems typing than normal -- the compactness of the laptop keyboard is more of an issue. It's always a good idea with these super thin laptops to get some sort of screen protector, even more so with a keyboard protector -- I got a microfiber cloth sheet from ShaggyMac for that purpose.

The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because the text on the top row of function keys doesn't perfectly line up with their keys below -- it's all shifted to the right. That's only an issue at night with the keyboard illumination on as it can make it kind of difficult to determine which function key is what.
Great value, nice feel, good protection.
I bought this because even though I don't eat popcorn or crusty sandwich breads atop my keyboard, somehow something always manages to get in there. Bottled air is great for getting dust out but it sometimes just moves the big stuff around.

    PROS:
The cover has a really nice soft feel to it when I type. It lessens the click-click sounds (especially with long fingernails) and just gives it a nice cushiony feel to the keyboard.

It's keeping out dust, dirt, crumbs, whatever else. My son uses the laptop almost daily and every once in a while I'll remove the cover just to see how clean the keys still are.

You can see the lit keys beneath it, and still see the letters when they aren't lit.

It doesn't leave marks on the screen when I close the laptop lid, which I was concerned about for some reason. (I think another review somewhere said that.)

    CONS:
    It isn't free. :)

All in all, I'd probably never go without one of these again.
Symbols on the Function Keys Have Changed!
I bought a MacBook Pro May 16, 2008. When I got the Ghost White Glow in the Dark Keyboard Protector printed with the Keys, I realized that the symbols on the function keys were wrong. On my new Mac, the volume and mute buttons have moved, the number lock is gone, and dim/brighten buttons for the keyboard have moved. According to this seller, Apple recently changed the symbols on the function keys for the MacBook Pro. This vendor gave me back my S&H fee + 10% of the purchase price, if I wanted to keep it, so I did. It was that or pay to send them the item back, only to get a refund of the purchase price (not S&H) minus (-) a 15% restocking fee. The pad is still not too bad; It would be perfect if it was printed correctly on the function keys. If you have an older MacBook, this might work for you. If not, get one without the keys printed on it. I noticed that Apple is the only one selling a crystal clear pad. Other sellers are selling versions that are frosted. Happy Hunting!
Would be great if I had an older MacBook Pro
This would have been a great keyboard protector if it fit my MacBook Pro,
I have the latest version MBP and it will not fit.
Also the F keys are mislabeled.

so if you just bought the new MBP wait for the next version of this product.
