    Good keyboard...Great price
I purchased this keyboard for two systems I built (one for myself and one for someone else) six months ago. I love it, and neither of the keyboards have had any problems. It types easily and quietly and has a nice array of functions for an inexpensive keyboard. It took a little bit to get used to hitting the F-Lock key to access F1-F12, but it has never caused me any problems. I can count on one hand the number of times I've forgotten to hit the F-Lock key in the past six months. I use the function keys for their other functions 90% of the time, anyway. The media player controls (previous track, next track, play/pause, and stop), along with the My Computer/Documents/Pictures/Music keys are the most helpful. I like the fact the media key brings up a menu, since I use about 3 different media players on a regular basis. It only has a PS/2 connection, so if you're looking for USB, this isn't the keyboard for you. I prefer to not waste a USB port on a keyboard, when I have plenty of other things that require USB. Logitech makes quality products that last. I used to work retail, and the Logitech products didn't come back very often, compared to Microsoft mice and keyboards which came back frequently. I would definitely recommend this keyboard for its price, quality and functionality.
    Excellent keyboard.
I had some doubts about this keyboard when I bought it. Unlike all the other keyboards I've used, it's very low profile with hardly any upward slope towards the back, with very light keys.
But after using it seriously for only one day, I found that my touch typing speed and accuracy was significantly higher. It's gotten even better with time.
The slight arm and shoulder aches I've had with other keyboards have gone, plus I never accidentally bump the sloped front "Windows" keys like I always did with the others. Obviously Logitech know a lot about ergonomics (human/machine interaction).
The multimedia and second-function keys mostly do what they're supposed to, except that the e-mail functions don't want to work with my Eudora program. That's not important to me. I wanted comfortable accurate touch typing, and I've got it.
I seriously recommend this keyboard, especially to people who have to do a lot of writing like I do!
    You'll be sorry
I did not like this keyboard. For one thing if you want to use the function keys (F1-F12) you have to press a button on the keyboard every time you start your computer. Two, the keyboard sits relatively flat making all the keys the same height. It's especially bad on the bottom row where the Control, Windows key, Alt, and space bar keys are. Due to the design of the keyboard those keys actually appear to be higher than the row of keys above them. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to hit the SHIFT key and hit the Windows key instead. As far as the other features of the keyboard go I can't comment on them since I really only wanted a good basic keyboard. This wasn't it. I suggest to anyone thinking about purchasing a new keyboard to try it out first before buying it.
    Excellent keyboard for the price
This is a nice keyboard. I believe it is the most inexpensive Logitech model. The good news is that Logitech doesn't make junk. It's slightly tweaked from a standard keyboard, in that keyboard is not inclined upward but horizontal. There is a also a plastic wrist-rest that attaches to the front of the keyboard. These changes I believe are supposed to make typing more comfortable since your wrists are no longer twisted upwards. I am experimenting using the keyboard with and without the wrist-rest; I think it largely depends on the height of the chair you are sitting in--if your chair is high enough, then the wrist-rest is good, if your chair is lower, the wrist-rest leaves your wrists uncomfortably high. There are some other slight differences in the keyboard; the 1st row of keys (spacebar, control, alt, etc.) are tapered toward the front of the keyboard, I assume for ergonomic reasons. I like the feel of the keyboard; it requires only a light touch. It is also fairly quiet i.e. no loud clicking. The only things I don't like are minor--the function keys must be enabled using a F-lock key--however they stayed locked for the remainder of the time the computer is on. I also couldn't get the software to work--the one that is supposed to map various keys to things like e-mail, your internet home page, etc. I don't really care about that, so I didn't really try very hard to get it to work--it probably would have if I persisted. I also had some problems de-installing the drivers--when I removed them, the keyboard wouldn't work. I had to reinstall the drivers again. The keyboard worked OK in Debian Linux (Sarge/3.1), as well as Windows. The keyboard looks attractive enough, although the wrist-rest if charcoal and the keyboard off-white so they don't match. In all, an excellent keyboard for the price.
    Excellent
A great keyboard. It really functions just as it says. The keys are pretty slient, the build in handrest is very comfortable, and at least for me all the extra keys function great. While some say that the "F-lock" is an annoyance, I really never use the f keys and the special keys that replace them are much more useful. A great keyboard for the price.
