I am an accountant and work on the road with my laptop most of the time. But data entry without a numeric keypad has been a real drag. The Kensington keypad design is awesome because it kills two birds with one stone. It combines its original purpose as a numeric keypad for notebook computers with an external calculator. Also, given that my notebook only has two USB ports, two extra USB ports on the keypad is a godsend. The only complaint (albeit a very minor one) is that the keypad goes to sleep after a short while which is a minor annoyance. And you do have to remember to toggle it back to keypad entry after you use it as a calculator. I highly recommend this product.

| Almost PERFECT for my use/need...If it didn't SLEEP |

Been using it daily since I got it for Xmas'08. Replaced older numeric keypad and PDA that acted as a calculator. Now I have one device on my right side to do both.
HOWEVER!!! My biggest complain is it should have an option of not needing to go to sleep. Yes, it turns off after a minute of not being used. Annoying the hell out of me when I start using it and realize it too late. Would be nice if it turned on when a key is touched.

It came with a manual and works fine. It can be switched to a calculator and later input the final result to the computer, which is cool. The position of the keys is a little odd and may take some getting used to.
The price decreased bit by bit since I bought it 2.5 months ago, when it was over $30. So I guess it won't hurt to wait =)

Product does exactly what it's supposed to. Buttons are great for data entry and selecting modes (calculator/keypad) is flawless. I highly recommend this product everyone with a laptop.

This item is not a stand-alone calculator. It must be plugged in to the computer to use the calculator feature. For some reason, it times out. It is very annoying when you try to enter numbers and you realize that the thing has timed out. I'm not sure why they designed it to do this. It's not like there is a battery that is running down (as I mentioned, it must be plugged in to use). It works pretty well if you can deal with the timing out thing. I'm going to live with it even though it bothers me. The users manual is pretty weak too. It doesn't provide much in the way of instructions. Perhaps the Spanish, French or Dutch instructions are more descriptive. Too bad I can't read those.
