Price: $59.95 More Info and All Reviews

There's just something nice about the feel of a mechanical switch keyboard. The tiny snap you feel through your fingertips and the subtle click you hear confirms each keystroke. It's instant tactile and audible feedback for your keyboarding. Includes USB to PS/2 adapter. Reqiures Microsoft Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP.

    VERY POOR QUALITY!
This keyboard is built very poorly.
I opend up the keyboard right after I got the keyboard to see how it is inside.
The first thing I saw was splitted pattern that came off the PCB.
That is a result of over heating. Which means it was soldered by a unskilled employee.
Lead of some resistors were not properly cut.
Status LED was glued with hot melt glue because they have broke the patter while soldering.
Some keys are sticky probably due to over heating while soldering.
'C' key stopped working after just few hours of use and the reason was a broken pattern!
Space bar is very loud and harder to press if it is not pressed at dead center.
Status LED window is gray with while border. Very ugly on a black keyboard. The official picture show black window. Which suggests they just use whatever they have at time.

Only good thing about this keyboard is key switches made by Cherry.

Here are some picture I have taken. Writings are in Korean, but picture tell the story.

It may cost more to send it back for a replacement or refund than repairing problems myself unless the seller (ergonomic.com ) will also pay for return shipping.

    Could have been a contender
What a shame this keyboard was so poorly made.I like most who bought this keyboard did it for the cherry key switches.Unfortunately after a short time the #3 key became intermittent and now recently many of the keys have failed. So unless you're looking for a fifty dollar doorstop avoid this product at all costs.
    cheap labor= poor quality
The Cherry switches are great, but the assembly is poor. The strain relief on USB cable was joke, it required super-glue to hold it in place. Then the left arrow key was intermittent, the result of a bad solder joint and lifted trace off the PCB, which required a jumper wire to be installed to reconnect the lead of the switch to the circuit. The entire board is filled with bad solder joints and wire jumpers right from the factory. I love the tactile feel of the keys but I don't think the keyboard will survive to see a fraction of the 2 million cycles the Cherry switches are rated at.
Worked great for about 10 months
Looking for the feel and sound of the old IBM keyboards, I found this one 11 months ago. It has worked flawlessly until about a month ago - which means it lasted me 10 months. Now the the number keys are having issues. It doesn't matter if I use the number keys from the right side number pad or use the number keys across the top of the letter keys. The really bad ones are the numbers 4 and 9.. sometimes I have to press the 4 or 9 five or six times before it will work. Number 1 is almost as bad. Number six won't work at all. Also having the same issues with the letter R. If you don't mind having to get a new keyboard after about 10 months, then this one will do ya. Otherwise, avoid it.

UPDATE: If you want a really good mechanical keyboard, do like I did. Go to your local Salvation Army-type thrift shop. Here where I am, it's called Gateway Rescue Mission. These kinds of stores always get old computers and accessories and they usually have some up and running for you to test. Look for an IBM Model M keyboard. There will be a sticker on the bottom/back of the keyboard that tells you the model. These are the original bad boys of mechanical keyboarding! Paid FIVE BUCKS for the one I'm typing on right now. They are selling on eBay for $20 on up to $125. Good luck in your search for a good mechanical keyboard.. just do NOT buy this one.
    Great design, fatal manufacturing flaw
The design of this keyboard is great. It is built using top-quality Cherry mechanical keyswitches.

However, it suffers from a fatal manufacturing flaw, which causes various keys to fail after a few months.

The specific problem is something to do with the solder. After a while, the keyswitches become detached from the circuit board because the solder joints fail. As best we've been able to work out, this is because the solder is some sort of weird lead-free substitute required by some European law called the Regulation of Hazardous Substances Directive (ROHS).

Now, I appreciate the thought behind removing lead from consumer electronics products. I don't want lead poisoning any more than the next guy. But I've had two keys fail on me, and in each case, I've opened up the keyboard and soldered jumpers on to reconnect the keyswitch to the circuit. These jumpers are very tiny so I've had to lean in reeally close to see them.

As a result of the ROHS lead-free solder I've been exposed twice now to unnecessary lead fumes from the solder I used to repair it. A big thanks to the European Union for that. I am pretty sure there are ways to control fumes when tooling a factory, such as respiratory gear for workers and automation of the soldering line. Perhaps that was the answer instead of banning the lead?

I have a headache now, due to the lead fumes from repairing my comma key a few minutes ago, so I think I'll go lie down and take a nap.
